Privacy policy

Clear information about the data FastClean processes, the permissions it uses and the choices available to you.

Effective date: September 29, 2026 Last updated: September 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use FastClean (the "App"). It also describes your privacy choices and rights.

By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the FastClean Android application, its related support services, and the FastClean website where this policy is posted. It does not apply to third-party services governed by their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Process

The information processed depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant, your device, your region, and the App version.

2.1 Files and media processed locally

To provide cleaning and file-management features, the App may access information about files stored on your device, including:

  • File name, type, size, path, creation or modification time, and similar file metadata
  • Photos and image metadata needed to identify similar or duplicate images
  • Videos, audio files, documents, APK files, downloads, archives, and other user-selected files
  • Storage capacity, used space, and available space
  • Location metadata embedded in supported photos when you use the location-data removal feature

This information and the contents of your personal files are processed locally on your device for scanning, classification, comparison, display, and user-requested cleanup. We do not upload your personal file contents to our servers for these purposes.

Files are deleted, moved, modified, or protected only when you initiate or confirm the relevant action. Android or your device manufacturer may display an additional system confirmation.

2.2 Device, app, and diagnostic information

We or our service providers may process limited technical information, such as:

  • Device model, manufacturer, operating-system version, language, country or region, screen characteristics, and app version
  • App interactions, feature usage, session information, and approximate timestamps
  • Crash logs, diagnostic events, error reports, and performance information
  • IP address and network connection information
  • Device or app identifiers, including an advertising identifier when available and permitted

We use this information to operate the App, maintain security, diagnose errors, improve performance, measure features, prevent fraud and abuse, and support advertising where enabled.

2.3 Network diagnostics

When you use network speed or network-scanning features, the App may process connection status, network type, latency, transfer speed, IP-related information, and information about devices visible on your local network. This data is used to provide the requested diagnostic result. Local-network information is not used to access the contents of other devices.

2.4 Information you provide

If you contact us, we may receive your email address, message, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond, troubleshoot issues, and maintain support records.

The App does not require users to create an account unless a future version clearly states otherwise.

3. Android Permissions

FastClean may request the following permissions or system access, depending on Android version and enabled features:

3.1 Photos and videos

Permissions such as READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, or their earlier Android equivalents allow the App to find, display, compare, and manage photos and videos. On supported devices, Android's selected-photo access may be used when appropriate.

3.2 Files and storage

File or storage access allows the App to scan and manage supported files in shared storage. If the App requests MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (All files access), it is used only where necessary for FastClean's core file-management functionality, such as finding and managing junk, large, residual, duplicate, document, archive, APK, and downloaded files across shared storage.

We do not use storage access to collect personal file contents for advertising, sell personal files, or upload those files to our servers. You can revoke this access in Android settings, although related cleaning features may stop working or become limited.

3.3 Notifications

If you allow notifications, the App may send cleaning reminders, storage alerts, task results, or other product-related notices. You can disable notifications at any time in Android settings.

3.4 Network access

Internet and network-state access support network tests, service communication, advertising, consent management, security, and diagnostics.

The App will request permissions in context where required. You may deny or revoke permissions, but some features will then be unavailable.

4. How We Use Information

We process information to:

  • Provide file scanning, cleanup, storage analysis, media management, privacy, and network tools
  • Display scan results and complete actions requested by you
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the App
  • Measure app performance and understand feature usage
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and invalid advertising activity
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests
  • Serve and measure ads, manage consent, and comply with advertising requirements where ads are enabled
  • Comply with applicable laws, enforce our terms, and protect users, the public, and our legal rights

5. Advertising and Third-Party Services

FastClean may use Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertisements. According to Google's SDK disclosures, the Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information such as IP address, user interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes.

Depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and applicable law, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. We may use Google's User Messaging Platform or another consent mechanism to present privacy choices. You can revisit available privacy choices through the App's settings or the privacy-options entry point, when provided.

Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Services used in the released version may include:

  • Google Play services
  • Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK
  • Google User Messaging Platform
  • Google Play Console diagnostics, Android Vitals, or similar distribution and stability services

Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

The exact SDKs included in a particular release should match the disclosures in the App's Google Play Data safety section.

6. When Information Is Shared

We may share limited information:

  • With service providers: Vendors that provide advertising, consent management, analytics, diagnostics, hosting, security, or customer support, subject to appropriate contractual or legal protections
  • For legal and safety reasons: When reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce terms, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect rights and safety
  • During a business transaction: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law
  • With your direction or consent: When you request or authorize the disclosure

We do not sell the contents of your personal files. We do not share personal file contents scanned by the cleaning features with advertising providers.

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: To provide features you request
  • Consent: For certain advertising, storage access, notifications, or optional processing where required
  • Legitimate interests: To secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights
  • Legal obligation: To comply with applicable law and valid legal requests

You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

8. Data Retention

Local scan results and file metadata generally remain on your device and may be cleared when you clear App data or uninstall the App. We retain support communications, diagnostics, and other information processed by us only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies. Retention periods may vary based on the type of information, legal requirements, and service configuration.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no device, software, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a portable copy of certain personal information, or to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a decision or complain to a privacy regulator.

You can control information and permissions by:

  • Reviewing or revoking App permissions in Android settings
  • Resetting or deleting the device advertising identifier through Android settings, where supported
  • Adjusting available advertising or consent choices in the App
  • Disabling notifications in Android settings
  • Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App
  • Contacting us using the details below

Because personal file scanning is performed locally, we generally do not possess a server-side copy of the files or scan results to retrieve or delete. For information held by a third-party provider, you may also need to submit a request directly to that provider.

We may need to verify your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

11. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent legal mechanisms.

12. Children's Privacy

FastClean is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Signals

Mobile applications do not respond uniformly to browser-based Do Not Track signals. Where required and technically supported, we or our service providers may recognize applicable opt-out preference signals or provide equivalent controls through consent and privacy settings.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, our practices, third-party services, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
